During his six years tenure, Drew led the expansion into three new markets and fifteen locations, tripled the operating budget, developed and expanded staff from 50 to 130, successfully led two capital and operating campaigns of $3M and $8M respectively, while serving on national and statewide committees and panels for government, non-profit, STEM education and workforce development initiatives. Drew worked with US legislators to secure two Federal Special Projects grants of $250K and $2M, helped secure $4M in direct program funding from the State of Illinois, and was invited to the White House twice for his work to improve Youth Workforce Readiness for disadvantaged students in STEM careers. Drew also served as one of the top producing national team directors for philanthropy and partnerships for the Boy Scouts of America Foundation, where he developed funding and program relationships with Fortune 500 companies and major donors throughout the country, supervised a team of four major gift officers, and developed and maintained high level relationships with astronauts, explorers, technology industry innovators and CEOs.
Drew grew up the youngest of five children with a single mother, and understands firsthand the challenges children from under-resourced families face when parents don't know how to navigate the education and career pathways in our country. He is a passionate voice and advocate for opportunities for all children to be prepared for our rapidly evolving 21st century workforce, and for the pivotal roles our institutions and community stakeholders can play in their future success. He is a husband, father, author, equestrian, beekeeper, and musician, committed to helping others find purpose, meaning and do good together in the world.
